About Elsewhere
Most travel content tells you where to go.
Elsewhere tells you where to be.
There is a difference — and it matters more than it sounds. The right place at the right moment doesn't just restore you. It recalibrates something. You arrive one person and leave, quietly, another. Not transformed in the dramatic sense. Just clearer. More yourself.
We built Elsewhere because we couldn't find what we were looking for. Not another listicle of the world's best hotels. Not a ranking system. Not sponsored content dressed as editorial opinion. We wanted the kind of recommendation that comes from someone who has actually been somewhere, noticed the thing the brochure missed, and thought: you need to know about this.
That is what we write.
What We Cover
Elsewhere focuses on the places where luxury and genuine restoration meet — thermal sanctuaries, mountain lodges, coastal retreats, transformative escapes. Properties where the setting does real work on you, not just on your Instagram feed.
We are not comprehensive. We are deliberate. Every property that appears in these pages has earned its place through the quality of what it offers, not through advertising relationships or press trips. If we wouldn't go back, we don't recommend it.
How We Work
Our guides are researched with the same attention we'd bring to planning our own escapes — which is to say, obsessively and without shortcuts. We read everything, cross-reference everything, and look for the detail that changes how you understand a place.
The insider tip. The best room in the property. The thing that only becomes obvious once you've arrived.
We carry affiliate relationships with booking platforms, which means we may earn a small commission if you book through our links — at no cost to you. This never influences what we recommend or how we write about it. Our disclosure policy is [here].
Finding Your Elsewhere
If something in these pages has stayed with you — a property, a landscape, a feeling you recognised — that is usually the right signal.
The places worth travelling for have a way of announcing themselves quietly.
